The Brief
We were briefed by our friends at T Brand Studio of The New York Times to create a film exploring the theme of ‘craft’ and have it relate back to the principles that underpin the Dorchester Brand and their pursuit of excellence. What better way to explore those themes, than to create a cinematic documentary piece that explores the craft and perfection embodied within the art of ballet.
What we did
We spent two days with the principal dancer of the Dutch National Ballet, creating a cinematic documentary that showed the creative process of the dancer, and the world in which they inhabit.
The result is a visually stylistic mix of documentary actuality, and composed studio shots.
